archipelago wins competition for hotel and housing project in Calais
The consortium led by Aire Nouvelle, a subsidiary of Equans France, together with Van der Valk and archipelago, has been selected to realize a 13.000 m² hotel and residential project on the Calais seafront.
The project is the result of a shared ambition to create a dynamic venue where architecture and sustainability blend harmoniously with the unique context of Greater Calais.
The programme includes:
– 140 hotel rooms
– 40 apartments, half of which will be 2, 3 and 4-bedroom units, all with double orientation
– 1 panoramic restaurant, rooftop and lounge bar, open to the public
– 1.550 m² open space dedicated to events
– 1 spa & wellness area of over 750 m², open to the public
– 140 parking spaces
Following the input of our in-house research team, the project will adopt an advanced approach to design and technical solutions, integrating a low-carbon approach with particular attention to building materials, energy efficiency and user comfort.
