Ground breaking ceremony for the ‘single site’ hospital works of CHwapi
The ground breaking ceremony for the works of the ‘Centre Hospitalier de Wallonie picarde’ was held on Friday 10th September in the presence of Health Minister Christie Morreale. This project embodies the vision of the new CHwapi hospital in Tournai which will cover a total floor area of 150.000m² and gather 850 beds on a single site.
The project designed by archipelago aims to encourage social interaction, in particular due to its open base and public forecourt, the hospital has been carefully integrated into the city. Its warm and bright architecture supports a healthy environment for patients and staff, while providing added value for the neighbourhood residents.
