The cutting of the first sod for Vitas Hechtel-Eksel
The new development of this approved group of service flats was inaugurated on 6 October 2018 in the presence of Flemish Minister Jo Vandeurzen, Member Frank Smeets of the Executive Council of Limburg, representatives of the Board of Directors and management of Vitas and the mayors of the affiliated municipalities.
The residences are expected to be move-in ready in the spring of 2020. This development enables the care facility to expand its care & residential options for the future alongside the existing Den Boogerd residential care facility and planned development of the daytime care centre. The nearby ‘neighbours’ of the new Sint-Elisabeth assistance centre, with residences designed for the elderly and adults with a mental disability in need of care, also enthusiastically attended the event.
