Start of construction for Safran project at Brussels Airport
The start of construction for the Safran Aircraft Engine Services site was celebrated with a ceremony at its prime Brussels Airport location.
Safran’s new energy positive building will support the production of next generation aircraft engines with high sustainability standards. The project benefits from efficient building physics, ecological water management, natural green landscape, performance-based lighting, and a focus on soft mobility.
“The construction of this new building will meet a twofold objective: developing and modernising our global maintenance network to support the growth of the LEAP fleet worldwide and reduce the carbon footprint of our operations and infrastructure, as part of Safran’s low-carbon strategy.” Nicolas Potier, Director of the Support & Services division of Safran Aircraft Engines.
Construction work is expected to be completed in early 2024 and the site is expected to be fully operational in the first quarter of 2024.
